Google Index Checker
Enter a URL to instantly check whether your page or whole site is indexed in Google using a site: query.
What is the Google Index Checker?
For a page to appear in Google search, it must first be in Google's index. This tool runs a `site:` query for the URL you enter and shows whether that page or site is indexed, along with sample pages found. A page that isn't indexed will never appear in search, no matter how good it is.
How to use it
- 1Enter the full URL (a page) or the domain (the whole site) you want to check.
- 2Enter the security code and press 'Check'.
- 3See the result: indexed or not, plus sample pages found in Google.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn't my page indexed?
The page may be new and not yet crawled; robots.txt or a 'noindex' tag may be blocking it; or content quality/internal linking may be insufficient. You can request indexing from Google Search Console.
Is the site: result the real index status?
site: is a very good indicator but not 100% definitive. The most accurate, official source is the 'URL Inspection' tool in Google Search Console.
How long does indexing take?
New pages are usually indexed within a few days to a few weeks. Submitting a sitemap, adding internal links and requesting indexing in Search Console speeds it up.
Why are only a few pages shown?
The tool shows the first 10 sample results; your site's real indexed page count may be much higher. For the exact number, check the 'Pages' report in Google Search Console.
